Mt Gambier is the most popular and well-known site. It is only a 5-hour drive from Melbourne. Normally we do the drive Friday night after work, dive Saturday and Sunday and then come home Sunday afternoon. There are like a million kangaroos out on the roads so you have to duck and weave past. I think it is fair to say that the drive there is the most dangerous part of the trip.
